Circularity: giving a second life to resources is benefiting our world
Aliaxis Italy have got the certification PSV (Plastic Second Life) no. 3196/2024 for a wide range of PVC-U products for gravity and pressure application obtained by extrusion and molding using internal by-product.
Such certification assesses the presence of internal reworked material in the formulation used for the manufacturing of the PVC-U products. These products indeed are obtained from the use of production waste compling with the requirements specified in the "Plastic Second Life" Certification Regulation Ed. 2 rev. 1 of 10/2022, which includes compliance with the requirements of the EN15343 standard.
PSV is an environmental product certification system dedicated to materials and products obtained from the valorisation of plastic waste from separate collection or other post-consumer circuits and to materials and products obtained from industrial waste.
Specifically, this certification is confirmed as an useful option to demonstrate the presence of the minimum value of recycled plastic material and is part of the CAM "Minimum Environmental Criteria" measures. The minimum environmental criteria, dictated by Ministerial Decree no. 256 of 23 June 2022, are requirements aimed at identifying, in the various phases of the life cycle of the work, the best design solution, product or service from an environmental point of view.
The PSV brand aims to enhance the virtuous behaviour of the company in the "reuse" of processing residues that can be removed from the waste cycle.
Its assessment is carried out according to the Italian standard UNI 10667-1, the Italian Ministry Decree 264/2016, the Italian Ministry Decree 152/2006 and the Guidance on the interpretation of key provisions of Directive 2008/98/EC on waste of the European Commission of June 2012.
